to provide your employer
with a BSB number, your

4: Transfer
your electronic deposits/
direct credits and every
other account held with
the previous bank.
If
you have funds from any
other sources electronically
deposited directly into
your bank account, such
as Centrelink, investment
dividends or health fund
rebates, you will need to
let them know that your
bank account details have
changed.
However
with direct debit there
is direct credit - you must
make sure every account
is change * This is the
hardest part because you
have to remember all the
bills that are direct debited.
Here
are a few - GST - Taxation
department, Medical insurance,
Telstra, Car Insurance,
House Insurance, Foxtel,
Etoll or even your shares
account.
The list is endless but
when you change you are
saving money regardless
if you choose a bank that
has lower rates.
Step
5: Transfer
your direct debits - i.e
BOAT - CAR - CITYLINK -
WHITE GOODS - RENT etc
You
will need to cancel all
direct debits coming from
your old account (e.g. home
and personal loan repayments, credit
card repayments, insurance
payments, health fund memberships,
utility bills, subscriptions
etc) and set them up for
your new account.
Step
6: Register
for online banking
Online
banking is a secure online
banking service. You will
receive convenient 24 hour
access to your accounts.
You
can register for Online
banking, when you open your
new account with the bank
of your choice.
Step
7: Setup
other payments
If
you have any future dated
payments set up on your
old bank account you will
need to cancel these and
set them up for your new
account. You can set future
dated payments with online
banking services.
Step
8:
Close your old bank account
To
close your old bank account,
contact your old bank and
confirm with them what you
need to do to close the
account. Most banks require
a written request with your
signature to close an account
or will ask you to fill
in a form. At switchbanks
we have done all of the
hard work for you.
